Your Game Boy has a new day job.

Receipt Boy turns a Game Boy or Game Boy Color into a tiny cash register - with real receipts from the original Game Boy Printer. Set up a shop, choose your products, ring up a sale, and send it to paper. Or save the receipt for later. No printer? You can still use checkout, previews, sales totals, and receipt history.

What can it do?

- Build a catalog of up to 64 products with prices, tax settings, and 100 selectable icons.

- Add quantities, custom items, cash tendered, and change to your receipts.

- Make it your shop with a pixel logo, three header lines, a footer, and an optional signature line.

- Print with the original Game Boy Printer, including longer receipts that span multiple segments.

- Recall saved receipts with their original items, prices, tax, and logo.

- Track sales totals and quantities sold, with a faster interface on Game Boy Color.

Set up at your desk. Take it to the Game Boy.

The included Receipt Boy Studio opens in your desktop browser. Edit your product catalog, import a logo, preview receipts, and export your updated save. You can also export retained receipts as CSV or individual PNGs. It runs offline and keeps your files on your computer.

What you need

The ROM runs in a compatible Game Boy emulator or on compatible cartridge hardware with battery-backed saves. Physical printing requires an original Game Boy Printer, a compatible link cable, and suitable paper. Studio requires a current desktop Chrome or Edge browser and a raw Receipt Boy save file.

The downloads include the ROM, offline Studio, and a detailed user guide. Both .gb and .gbc files are supplied; they contain the same dual-compatible ROM. Hardware and an emulator are not included.

A few useful details

Receipt history uses a rolling archive: its capacity depends on receipt size, and older entries leave history when space fills. Sales totals remain. Back up saves and export receipts you want to keep permanently. Receipt Boy records sales in USD; it does not charge cards or process payments.
